Dear Stakeholders,
The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most vital sectors playing a significant role in the healthcare of society. The Indian pharmaceutical industry is the 3rd largest in terms of volume and 13th largest in terms of value globally.
The industry is divided into several segments, including generic drugs, over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), vaccines, contract research and manufacturing, biosimilars, and biologics.
Some of the major challenges faced by the pharmaceutical sector are; supply chain disruptions, lack of qualified professionals, data security, resistance to change, the demand for increased transparency, large data management, time-consuming and expensive toxicity testing, etc.
The Indian government is taking several initiatives to promote the growth of the pharmaceutical industry, through ‘ATMNIRBHAR BHARAT’ and by implementing various schemes through the Department of Pharmaceuticals like Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) to make quality medicines available to poorest of the poor.
It is the duty and responsibility of academic institutes to provide the workforce that the industry demands. The preaching of Hon. Late Sahakarmaharshi Shri Tatyasaheb Kore, our founder President; vision and support of Hon. Dr. Vinayraoji Kore (Saavkar Saheb), President, Warana Industrial & Educational Complex; academic and co-extra academic conduct of the HEI, the allegiance of our faculty & the sincere efforts of our students; we are poised to accomplish this task with commitment and dedication.
Thank you!!!
