Animal House Facility
Vision: |
To become a centre of excellence in preclinical research |
Mission: |
To accomplish animal studies crucial in drug discovery and development in most human way following guidelines of CPCSEA
|
Animal House Facility (AHF) at Tatyasaheb Kore College of Pharmacy, Warananagar was established in 2007 to accomplish the requirements of various investigators from different departments in Tatyasaheb Kore College of Pharmacy, Warananagar. AHF is registered with the committee for the purpose of control and supervision of experiments on animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, New Delhi (Registration Number: 1090/Po/Re/S/07/CPCSEA All activities associated with laboratory animal research at Animal House Facility (AHF) at Tatyasaheb Kore College of Pharmacy, Warananagar are performed as per the guidelines of CPCSEA, New Delhi as well as institutional guidelines under the supervision of Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC).
Animal House Facility (AHF) at Tatyasaheb Kore College of Pharmacy, Warananagar is located in a secluded corner of the campus, away from noise and pollution, providing an excellent environment for animals. The facility is equipped for small animal experimentation with quarantine and experimental rooms for rodents and rabbits. The Animal House is a conventional type of animal house with each species housed in individual rooms, in which the temperature, humidity, dark, and light cycles are monitored. The animal species are being used for various research projects approved by the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC). The health status of the animals is being monitored by a Veterinary Doctor.
